Biography

Abraham C. Millan was born in a Friday 26 of December of 1975 to 9:15 a.m. in the city of Cuernavaca, in Mexico. From very early age he starts to develop special abilities for the drawing and the sculpture. During his childhood Abraham was not felt especially motivated by the art, so alone takes it as a hobby.

At a 8 years old, he starts to make his first drawing studies in a way self-taught (a primary characteristic in him). Being already an adolescent, Abraham starts to show interest by the computing world, career he decides to take for his future. "When I was a child, I used to destroy everything to know how it was made" he mentions recalling his pranks.

Around the end of year 1994 to 19 years, Abraham starts to study the Engineering career in Computing Systems in the Instituto Tecnologico de Zacatepec (ITZ); same that lets inconclusive having been in the institution during 2 years approximately. It is then when he rediscovers his road toward the art, moved by the paraphernalia of the world of the sequential art and the comic books.

Condon Man © Daniel Benítez Castañeda.In 1996 Abraham meets one of the principal man that influenced his professional career, Daniel Benitez Castaneda, creator of The Condom Man and the Sosimo Memelas (and so many other characters). Abraham starts to collaborate in a way indirect in the magazine "El Mil Chistes" ("The Thousand Jokes"-Kinda MAD magazine) where Daniel was coordinating some sections, the learning with him changed radically the vision Abraham had of himself as drawing man. In 1997 begin his studies in the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Unit Xochimilco (UAM-X), in Design of the Graphic Communication, where between his better teachers emphasize Francisco Montes de Oca, the painters Jorge and Diana Morquecho, Eduardo Juarez Garduno, the writter Andres de Luna and the great conceptual artists Carlos Aguirre and Jose Antonio Hernandez Amezcua.

During his stay in the UAM, Abraham intervenes in small independent publication projects for comic books such as the extinct magazine "SEPTEM". Collaborate at the same time in internal university publications (you can read some articles published by clicing here), participates in a monumental graphic project for the delegation Iztapalapa in Mexico City, and it is exposed in the subway station "Metro Chabacano" (with ths support of CONACYT)a blanket of great format (a work called "Mercy") that accomplished with his college team.

Currently Abraham is living in The City of CIVAC where he develops his independent projects as animator, sculptor, illustrator and designer
