101 This intermediate workshop will cover a variety of approaches and strategies utilized in targeting the treatment of chronic pain. Various assessment and treatment issues will be discussed. These issues include readiness for chage, chronic dissociation, pain set points, primary and secondary gains, bracing and muscular tension and accepting pain as part of one's life.

Multiple Hands and Open Arms Hypnotic Techniques for facilitating Growth and Change

102 Dr. Clayton will first present his Multiple Hands Induction: a two stage regression technique for accessing and repairing life-limiting events and experiences. Following this, he will present his Open Arms Technique for reorganizing and resynthesizing negative expectations and beliefs about self, which may be a consequence of such events and experiences. How these techniques can be used to assist clients to move through and beyond their fear induced limitations towards increased self-worth and productivity, will be discussed using his own case examples.

Dr. Malmo will present how the open arms technique can be used for the integration of dissociated alters in clients with Dissociative Identify Disorder, using a video to ilustrate her unique application of this technique.

Communication in Hypnosis

105 This is about the fact, that all good communication is, in true sense, hypnosis, and the whole point of hypnosis is to communicate with people's unconscious mind. To do this, a hypnotist has to distract or confuse hypnotized person's conscious mind as this part of mind is a censor, who defends the entrance to the unconscious. The workshop is going to contain basic communication patterns which can be used to facilitate hypnosis.

The objectives is to show the connection between traumatic events in past lives and physical and emotional problems today. Past Life Therapy is a rapid and direct treatment of many psychosomatic ailments. Also to eliminate the irrational fear and superstition surrounding the subject of spirit possession and to bring an awareness of this very common condition that causes many psychosomatic symptoms. Spirit Releasement Therapy is a rational approach to treatment of this condition and elimination of the symptoms.

107 This workshop will outline the major theoretical concepts of two unique approaches to Group Psychotherapy. The central features of an Unstructured Humanistic/Existential orientation will be presented by Dr. Page, including the balance of Love, Power and Justice as essential for group cohesiveness and therapeutic change. Dr. Milliner will review concepts of group dynamics from a "Classical", "Ego Psychology", "Object Relations", "Self-Psychology" and "Relational" perspective within Psychoanalysis.

The Healing Power of Dreams

108 This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore dreamwork as a means to increase self-awareness and facilitate healing in psychotherapy. The gestalt method of working with dreams, developed by Fritz Pearls, will be presented and discussed. This method guides clients to act out all the parts of their dream in order to connect with their feelings and internal dynamics. Participants will learn about gestalt method of dream interpretation from examples of Dr. Malmo's clients.

109 This workshop will emphasize therapeutic principles and techniques for conducting Group Psychotherapy from two different yet compatible orientations. Dr. Page will provide illustrations of Unstructured Humanistic/Existential Group in various treatment settings. Dr. Milliner will highlight the power of unconscious fantasies in group enactments, and the role of transerence in distorting the perceptions that group members have of the leader and of one another. Both presenters will discuss the practical steps of organizing new therapy groups; establishing rules and clarifying the role of the members and group leader(s); the mechanism of therapeutic change; and the criteria for assessing growth by individual patients and by the group as a whole.

Coping with Loss: Short-term and long-term bereavement counseling

110 The workshop will offer a didactic and experiential understanding of the profound experience of coping with loss. It will cover psychological theories on loss and bereavement counseling along with processes which aid in the healing an the renewal of the self. Many different types of losses will be covered along with the multifaceted impact it has on the individual's psyche and his or her ability to function and relate to others. Therapeutic techniques and processes will be covered which address ways to cope with loss and the healing process. an art therapy experience will be presented to explore the process of addresing significant losses and rediscovering a renewed sense of identity.

112 In this workshops, Dr. Wilson will present the theory and practice of this powerful hypnotherapeutic tool that she has developed and used for the past eleven years. As well, she will outline the parallels between this process and the protocol of EMDR, and how the use of bilateral stimulation can enhance the use of the Re-definition of Self Process with some clients. The use of didactic presentation, videotapes and live demonstration will facilitate this learning experience for participants.

114 En la primera parte de este taller, haremos un abordaje teórico, con cuestiones relacionadas con el origen de la culpa, siempre teniendo en cuenta el historial de cada participante. En la infancia, los padres y los valores que aprendemos se transforman en fuentes constantes de culpas. Ya en la fase adulta, luchamos de todas las maneras intentando mantener nuestras culpas bajo control. En la segunda parte, mediante ejercicios prácticos, cada participante podrá rescatar sus propias culpas y entrenar estrategias de combate contra ellas, dándose a si mismo el perdón.
